DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES: this Tuesday 11th February World Day of Prayer for the Sick is the 162nd anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Lady to St. Bernadette in Lourdes. This year’s Diocesan Pilgrimage will leave Shannon on Friday June 26th, returning on Wednesday July 1st The cost this year is €725 per person sharing. €20 discoun t for online booking at http://www.joewalshtours.ie . APPEAL FOR NURSES: this year’s Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from Friday 26th June to 1st July. To care for sick and assisted pilgrims, the Diocese is looking to recruit 20 volunteer nurses who would assist and care for these pilgrims. Nurses who would like to express interest in volunteering or to find out more information are asked to contact Michael Daly 086-3813677.
ARISE – NATIONAL YOUNG ADULT EVENT ARISE – Young Adult 18+ National Event takes place in Knock Shrine on March 7th 2020. ST. PAT’S SOCCER CLUB: the Clare School boys/girls soccer league season is starting shortly and St. Pats are very busy making preparations. LIBRARY OPEN DAY: Sat 29th Feb 10am – 2pm, Kilrush Library are taking part in National Library Open Day. Everyone is invited to come along and take a closer look at what’s on offer. You will find that there are lots going on for people of all ages and interests. Get a taste of the various bookclubs and film clubs for children & adults, together with various classes, talks, workshops and exhibitions and all for Free. Staff member Rita McCarthy will deliver a most interesting local history talk on ‘Changing Times: Kilrush 1922 – 1939’. Non-library members are invited to register and avail of the many services on offer.
